Cold Open: This past Monday on Raw, Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn and World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns met in the ring ahead of their match at WWE Crown Jewel.
Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn kicks off SmackDown
Undisputed WWE Champion Sami Zayn makes his way to the ring alongside Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae. The crowd boos, and Zayn says it sounds like there are a lot of haters in the house, but who came to ride or die with the last real good guy? The crowd still boos. Earlier this week, he went toe-to-toe in the ring with “The OTC” Roman Reigns. Reigns got him thinking. It’s not the championship that makes the man… who is the man around here? There’s a misconception that the alpha male is the biggest and strongest, but that’s not true. The alpha male is the smartest. The man who always finds a way and survives, and that is Zayn. There are 8 billion people on the planet, but there’s only one WWE Champion, Sami Zayn! There is only one man on the planet that every person back there has their sights on. That is Sami Zayn. Zayn says he’s not going to tolerate anything from Roman Reigns, Penta, or anyone from Ontario…
AAA World Cruiserweight Champion Rey Fénix interrupts. Fénix says he doesn’t know what his brother is going to do with his Money in the Bank contract. Zayn has been good with Fénix, but if Zayn disrespects his family, they’ll have a problem. Gargano gets in Fénix’s face, but Zayn backs him up. Zayn says there is no problem. He’s always gotten along with Fénix. Zayn just thinks his brother just needs to mind his own business. Zayn has a problem with people showing disrespect…
WWE United States Champion Trick Williams interrupts. Williams comes out to the stage and says he feels Fénix’s pain because he has a problem with Zayn. Last week, Zayn told a lot of lies about him, including that Williams doesn’t know how to survive. Maybe it’s because Zayn puts no fear in his heart. Williams doesn’t have a fear of surviving. Williams runs down his accomplishments. He doesn’t have to worry about surviving because he’s thriving. Williams has been here for ten months and is getting better. Zayn has been in the game for 25 years, still trying to convince people he knows what “it” is. Zayn should know because “it” already beat him at WrestleMania. Williams gets in the ring. Zayn isn’t the king. Zayn is Simone. Williams is Simba. Only one of them knows how to talk, walk, look, and smell like a champion. Williams says he’s the veteran when it comes to being a champion, and Zayn is a rookie. The crowd chants, “Whoop that Trick.” Williams wants to cut the talking and get a title match.
Zayn says Williams should fear him. Williams may have a silver tongue, but Zayn can slice and dice him. Zayn sees the weaknesses in Williams. Zayn could destroy him on the microphone, but he won’t because he’s a good guy. Zayn wants Williams to enjoy this moment he’s having. The people will eventually come to the same logical conclusion that Zayn has because Williams doesn’t have “it.” Williams is swimming in deep waters right now. Zayn may not be the biggest shark in the ocean, but nothing has sharper teeth than him. Williams isn’t any closer to getting a WWE Championship match.
Williams asks where Zayn’s sharp teeth were when he beat his ass in the first place. Williams isn’t asking for a title match. He’s demanding it. If Zayn doesn’t give it to him, he’ll beat it out of him. Gargano gets in Williams’ face, so Williams goozles him. Zayn then attacks Williams from behind and gets out of the ring.
SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis comes out and says he has a problem with Zayn thinking he calls the shots around here. Aldis is the boss. To remind Zayn of that, he’s putting him in a match. Tonight, Zayn will team with Gargano against Williams and Fénix. We’ve got a Tag Team Match, playa!

Backstage Segment
Randy Orton is walking backstage. We’ll hear from The Viper next.
-Commercial Break-
Randy Orton addresses Cody Rhodes
Randy Orton makes his way to the ring to a great ovation. Orton says, “Cody Rhodes,” and the crowd boos. Orton says Rhodes is The American Nightmare, the “grandson” of a plumber, QB1, the golden boy, the husband to Brandi, the movie star… whoever or whatever Rhodes is, Orton wants him to know from the bottom of his heart… that he’s proud of him. Orton said he never thought in a million years his balls would drop low enough to punt someone in the head. Orton says it’s a badge of honor for him because he’s the only one to make Rhodes crack. Orton sees right through Rhodes. If Rhodes could pull the trigger on everyone in the WWE, but everyone knows it doesn’t matter unless he does it to Orton. Orton is the guy who, for 25 years, took down legends, friends, and enemies, kicking them in the head with zero remorse or hesitation. Orton doesn’t think… he knows. If he gets the opportunity, Rhodes will again hesitate.
“Wrestling has more than one royal family.”
“The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis runs down with two other WWE producers. They want to stop Rhodes from getting into the ring. Rhodes still gets into the ring. Aldis, Jason Jordan, and Shawn Daivari watch from the ringside. Rhodes asks when Orton became such a coward. Orton has a shot at THE record. They used to call Orton the Apex Predator, so why is Rhodes feeling unafraid? Orton is rewriting their relationship. Rhodes says Orton is the Legend Killer. Rhodes has watched Orton punt and put down many people, like Triple H. Then Orton killed any chance he had to be the face that runs the company. Orton has punted and put down Shawn Michaels, then killed any chance of being considered a professional. Orton has punted and put down Rhodes’ father, but then he killed a chance at the big 15. Look at Orton’s OVW class… he’s the last man standing. Orton shrugs. Orton punted Rhodes, as well, but one of them came out the next night while the other nursed his wounds in St. Louis “like a little bitch.” Rhodes is unafraid because he’s the anomaly to Orton. Rhodes is the Legend Killer’s Killer. All they’ve done is talk, so what are they waiting for?
Aldis and the WWE producers stop them. Aldis says this is going to happen… Orton cuts him off. Orton says he’s not going to fight because the golden boy wants to. Aldis says if Orton doesn’t want to fight here and now, they can do it at Crown Jewel. The crowd boos. Rhodes says he’ll wrestle Orton, but it’s not just any match. Rhodes says, “Last Man Standing!” Orton accepts and reminds Rhodes that he asked for this.
